Senior HRIS Consultant

The HRIS Implementation and Project Consultant is responsible for managing the full life cycle implementation of the Fairsail/Sage People software to include; project planning and initiation, discovery (scope) gathering and documentation, product configuration, customisation, training, UAT, rollout and go-live support. They have overall responsibility for managing the scope of work to be performed, resource assignments, budget, timeline, customer satisfaction and other client issues during the course of the implementation. You will also be responsible for managing others that are part of the implementation team. As well as sourcing opportunities, implementing systems and systems training, the HRIS Implementation and Project Consultant will be involved in varied HR projects, from assisting clients with sourcing suitable HR/Payroll systems to advising and designing HR processes. Other HR projects could involve recruitment, training and managing HR outsourcing tasks.
The HRIS Implement and Project Consultant will lead the services implementation of the Sage People software for our customers. The specific job responsibilities include the following:

Manage multiple ongoing Customer deployments / implementations of Sage People software
Lead the project to provide on-time and on-budget implementation delivery
Coordinate joint deployment / implementation projects with the Customer’s HR and IT staff, business owners, and other Global Services departments; keeping all parties in sync with our implementation team
Manage other consultants that have been assigned to the project as subject matter experts or additional resource
Oversee project execution, including but not limited to:
  • Conducting project kick-off meetings and workshops
  • Maintain the project budgets to include approving project team time, weekly budget status updates, and forecasting upcoming resource needs in order to ensure budget compliance.
  • Create and maintain the implementation project schedule, resource plan and issue and risk log
  • Facilitate regular meetings with the internal Tugela HR project team and the customer project team
  • Set up and run functional and technical requirements gathering workshops – Discovery workshop
  • Configure and supervise the technical development efforts for customer deliverables
  • Support Customers through go live activities
  • Draft training material and run training workshops as detailed in the project scope
  • Prepare formal project status reports on a regular basis for both the Customer and Tugela HR Management
  • The Project Manager is the primary liaison to the Customer’s designated Project Manager
  • Lead regular risk mitigation planning meetings with the internal Tugela HR and Customer teams
  • The Project Manager provides oversight and is accountable for the quality of any Customer deliverable from Tugela HR
  • Maintain high level of knowledge of the Fairsail/Sage People suite through training and project work
  • HR software implementation project experience and/or project management experience
  • Systems configuration expertise, Fairsail experience not a pre-requisite
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in requirements gathering and development
  • Expert analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to serve as an intermediary between technical developers and end users
  • Ability to deal with complex customer service issues, using diplomacy, professionalism and tact
  • Ability to create a positive and professional business relationship with internal and external clients
  • Ability to work with minimal direction
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities using time management skills
  • Knowledge of the full software development life cycle
  • Prior use of a formal Project Management Methodology and recognised Project Management tools
  • Knowledge of Project Management and consulting tools (such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
